GENERAL PURPOSE
This position is responsible for providing support to the educational process with specific responsibilities for coordinating Learning Development programs and services; providing information and serving as a resource to others; achieving defined objectives by planning, evaluating, developing, implementing and maintaining services in compliance with established guidelines; and serving as a member of the leadership team.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
    Communicates and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders implementing and/or maintaining services and programs.
    Assists with department operations, the maintenance of services and the implementation of new programs and/or processes providing services within established timeframes and in compliance with related requirements.
    Facilitates and/or participates in a variety of meetings conveying and gathering information regarding a wide variety of subjects required to carry out their administrative responsibilities.
    Guides development of systems, procedures and evaluation of programs to facilitate continual improvement in effectiveness in meeting the educational needs of students.
    Monitors budget allocations, expenditures, fund balances and related financial activities ensuring that allocations are accurate, revenues recorded, expenses are within budget limits and adherence to fiscal practices enforced.
    Performs personnel functions maintaining adequate staffing, enhancing productivity of personnel and achieving objectives within budget.
    Prepares a wide variety of complex materials documenting activities and issues, meeting compliance requirements, providing audit references, making presentations, and/or providing supporting materials for requested actions.
    Presents a wide variety of topics related to administrative responsibilities providing general information, training others, and implementing actions.
    Researches a wide variety of topics developing new programs/services, ensuring program compliance with established requirements, securing general information and/or responding to requests.
    Performs other related duties as required/assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience
    Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university, required.
    Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university, preferred.
    Principal experience, required.
    Minimum of four (4) years of job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is required.
Certificates, Licenses and Other Special Requirements
    Administrative Certification, required.
    Building Leadership experience, required.
    Must pass a Criminal Background Clearance, the results of which must be satisfactory to the District, required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    Knowledge of algebra and/or geometry; read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions; and solve practical problems, analyze issues and create action plans.
    Knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include appropriate codes, policies, regulations and/or laws; age appropriate activities; lesson plan requirements; stages of child development; and behavioral management strategies.
    Skill to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to routinely upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions.
    Skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job, including: operating standard office equipment including utilizing pertinent software applications; planning and managing projects; budgeting and financial management; and developing effective working relationships.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
    Work environment is primarily inside, where the noise and temperature levels are moderate.
    The work is light work that requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects.
    Must possess the physical ability to perceive the nature of sounds, make rational decisions through sound logic and deductive processes, express or exchange ideas by the spoken word, substantial movements (motions) with the hands, wrists, and/or fingers, and discern letters or numbers at a given distance.
    Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, manual dexterity, mental acuity, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity and walking.
