SALARIED: Starting at $55,000 – commensurate with experience
JOB SUMMARY: The Compliance Officer assists in overseeing CBC Companies’ Compliance Program. The Compliance Program exists to promote internal and external compliance education and awareness and ensure adherence to laws, regulations, contracts and company policies.

JOB SUMMARY: The Compliance Officer assists in overseeing CBC Companies’ Compliance Program. The Compliance Program exists to promote internal and external compliance education and awareness and ensure adherence to laws, regulations, contracts and company policies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education:
- High school diploma required. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution preferred
- Experience:
- Experience in a compliance, audit, quality assurance/quality control, consumer assistance/consumer relations, or a dispute handling role within the consumer reporting or financial services (e.g. debt collection, banking, etc.) industry preferred
- Experience developing and maintaining documentation including policies, procedures, training, correspondence, or other guidance documents preferred
- Experience identifying issues and recommending and/or implementing process improvements/efficiencies
- Skills:
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate tactfully and effectively
- Ability to gain consensus and buy-in from management
- Ability to critically analyze data
- Ability to effectively and efficiently handle multiple and/or varied assignments
- Strong attention to detail and quality with exceptional organization and project management skills
- Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others
- Strong conflict resolution skills
Policies and Procedures
- Establishes and maintains compliance policies, procedures and guidelines
- Reviews business unit policies to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Maintains records of policies and procedures in use by business units to assist with audits
- Assists business units with regulatory reviews
- Assesses products, compliance, or operational risks and helps develop risk management strategies
- Assists with Compliance Hotline to track and investigate reports of potential violations
- Responsible for working with assigned business units to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and contractual requirements
- Prepares compliance audit data by compiling and analyzing internal and external information
- Conducts periodic internal reviews or audits to ensure that compliance procedures are followed
- Represents Compliance on corporate efforts and projects in the development of financial products and services
- The Compliance Officer is responsible for fully understanding regulatory requirements relevant to the Financial Services Industry and the Credit Reporting Industry.
- Adhere to and be compliant as applicable, with GLBA, FCRA, FCPA, FHA, ECOA, CAN-SPAM, as well as all other federal, state and local laws, and company policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
