WELLNESS ASSOCIATE

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for continued cleanliness and maintenance of our Wellness Center as well as member services including wellness orientations and tours.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Maintain and be responsible for ensuring a clean and organized Wellness Facility.
2. Follow Wellness checklist to complete all tasks assigned.
3. Present as a professional staff member at all times, wearing a Y branded t-shirt, name tag (if available), and clean attire.
4. Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies.
5. Maintains positive relations with members. Models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions.
6. Communicate with Director if there is any hazards present or equipment in need of maintenance.
7. Give tours of facility, wellness orientations and assist Welcome Center when needed.
8. Other duties as assigned/needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
1. Age 16 or above.
2. Ability to communicate and work with a variety of age, skill and ability levels
3. CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
4. Applicant shows enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience and self-control.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb, or balance, taste, or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus. On occasions employee will have to restrain a child. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
