Web Developer - (Remote Opportunity)
POSITION OVERVIEW
Our organization is looking for a Web Developer developer who can utilize HTML, JavaScript, CSS, jQuery, PHP, and MySQL to develop effective user interfaces on websites released to the public. The successful candidate will work closely with our web development and software design teams to update the website and internal web tools as well as assist in their integration into our Marketing Technology toolbox. The Web developer will also be responsible for creating innovative solutions to web design issues to help make the websites and public marketing assets; with a specialty focus in optimizing JavaScript implementations using Optimizely and other testing and optimization tools for testing purposes to quickly and effectively develop test case Hypothesis planning and implementation across websites and landing pages.
Responsibilities
- Candidate would demonstrate strong analytical skills to complement a strong development skill set.
- Candidate would demonstrate the ability to estimate, track, and implement development tasks.
- Candidate would interact with developers on how to best apply coding standards with the core technologies being used.
- Candidate should be able to provide technical requirements documentation.
- Candidate should be able to troubleshoot and resolve complex development issues.
- Candidate must be able to work within a team or individually.
- Candidate must be capable of learning technology quickly on his or her own.
- Candidate would implement responsible web design principles to ensure that our company website renders well across multiple devices
- Candidate must be able to monitor website performance, watch for traffic drops related to site usability problems and rectify the issues
- Candidate should be able to review app and feature coding and plan future website upgrades with the development team. Assist in the development of applications and features that will be put on the website and in internal functions as well
Skills Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
- Experience as a WordPress developer. Understand templating concepts, custom post types, hooks, etc.
- Knowledge of PHP and MySQL.
- 5+ years’ web development experience required with a focus on JavaScript development and best practices. Preferably with a strong emphasis on JS ES6.
- Discussing website design and function with ministry stakeholders.
- Collaborating with designers, devops engineers, and other developers.
- Proficiency with Html 5, CSS, Less, SASS, Bootstrap, JS ES6 required
- Architecting and building the website back-end including database and server integration.
- Proficiency in Marketo, Salesforce, and their integration into marketing assets is a plus
- Conducting website performance tests.
- Knowledge of code versioning control (preferably Git).
- Experience utilizing Azure DevOps.
- Experience working with debugging tools such as Chrome Inspector and Firebug.
- Good understanding of website architecture and aesthetics.
- Ability to manage projects.
- Good communication skills.
