Essential functions and responsibilities:

• Perform the essential duties of a water/wastewater operator for onsite wastewater treatment system. This will include maintenance of equipment, collection of facility data and samples, troubleshooting and coordinating emergency repairs and documentation of results.
• Operate plant to meet all regulatory guidelines and responsibilities.
• Coordinate tasks/activities with analytical labs, equipment suppliers and vendors.
• Perform routine site inspections.
• Gain competence in analyzing operational data to determine system performance.
• Assist with pump, blower, motor, valve, etc., removal.
• Responsible for all activities and the overall operation/efficiency of a water and wastewater utilities project.
• Light maintenance duties as needed.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2-Year Technical Degree Preferred

Qualifications required:

• Basic knowledge of water and wastewater treatment
• Possess valid MN driver’s license
• 40 hour work week
• Must be available to work weekend and holidays as requested
• Overtime as required
• Climbing ladders, stairs, etc.
• Bending or stooping
• Operate a motor vehicle
• Basic computer skills

Qualifications desired:

• 1-year experience in the water, wastewater, or environmental sciences industry
• Understanding of basic laboratory
• Basic electrical and plumbing skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
