The Warehouse Receiving Supervisor will be responsible for coaching, motivating, and leading the warehouse employees to accomplish the productivity goals for the day and establishing a culture of positive employee relations while ensuring all processes, best practices, and policies are adhered to consistently. This role is a floor position that will require 95% of the workday spent in the receiving warehouse. Your team is made up of 4-7 FTE and SAW material handlers. This role will require you to create a climate in which people want to do their best; empowers others; invites input from each person; makes each individual feel his/her work is important; is someone people like working for and with.

This position is part of the Supply Chain and Logistics department and will be located onsite in Newark, CA. At Cepheid, our vision is to be the leading provider of seamlessly connected diagnostic solutions.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Provides daily direction and leadership to material handlers.
• Accountable for staffing, training, motivation and leadership.
• Audit readiness 24x7. Readily takes action to implement effective countermeasures and monitor sustainment of audit findings.
• Ability to ensure 5S readiness 24x7 and promote 5S activities to sustain warehouse organization and safety.
• Ability to work night shift starting at 6 pm rotating days, Sun-Wed, includes weekend, holiday work

The essential requirements of the job include:

• High school degree with 8+ years of experience OR Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience OR Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience
• Knowledge of the safety and legal documentation processes for handling related warehouse activities (MSDS, Equipment checklist, BOL)
• Certified, or ability to be certified on all forklift equipment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and SAP or other ERP software

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Experience in FDA or ISO regulated environment is highly desired
• Leadership and administration skills and abilities
• Commitment to performance: proven commitment to doing it “the right way” with a high level of attention to details and high personal standards of performance.
