Job Description:
Tagawa Greenhouse Enterprises, LLC is a producer of young plants/plugs and retail ready flowers and plant material for greenhouses nationwide and retailers around the Colorado region. During the facility’s peak seasons based on orders and greenhouse demands, the Warehouse Receiving Lead is responsible for the completion of all work assignments.
Hours for this position vary depending on the greenhouse needs, but average more than 40 hours per week during the year. The Distribution team has multiple peak weeks, including Spring Peak Shipping (approximately end of January through beginning of June) and Fall Shipping (Approximately mid-July through mid-December). It is possible for Warehouse Workers to work 5-7 days per week for shifts of over 10 hours duration. Total hours per week and the scheduled time for this position may vary.
An ideal candidate would have previous inventory receiving experience, would be hard-working, detail-oriented, physically fit, highly skilled in forklift operation, have a working knowledge of word processing, database and spreadsheet software, and a valid driver’s license. Have exceptional math and analytical skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills.
Have a larger understanding of how his/her/their processes relates to other teams. Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred but not required.
Inventory Receiving Responsibilities:
- Primary responsibility is accuracy and accountability of Hard-goods Inventories at TGE North
- Manage work content of two Inventory/Receiving Specialists
- Communicate directly to Administrative Inventory Team
- Communicate directly to Administrative Purchasing Team
- Communicate with Purchasing Dept schedules of inbound material.
- Communicate with Distribution Companies to schedule truck deliveries
- Receive goods from different delivery forms. E.G. Fed X, Amazon, UPS, OTR
- Unload or unpack inbound trucks or shipments.
- Verification of inventory received against packing list.
- Shipments may require PO look ups to match shipment versus order
- Mark inventory with part number, quantity per pallet, or package. Correctly identify and deliver to recipients of collection area
- Bag or stretch wrapping as required and place inventory in assigned location.
- Manage outdoor/indoor inventory locations for current or future usage
- Allocate inventory to planting lines, collation area or off-site locations.
- Accept return inventories, recount and re locate to storage areas
- Re-count and re-package and re-locate to storage areas inventory received back from planting line and off-site locations.
- Weekly Counts of Critical Inventory Supplies Items.
- Conduct Monthly/Annual Inventory Audits
- Developing or improving upon inventory management procedure.
In addition to the above responsibilities, the Warehouse Receiving/Inventory Specialist will be required to assist with various projects and coordinate their team to assist other departments within the greenhouse as needed. At times, it would be expected to assist with greenhouse labor and helping other teams as instructed by the Warehouse Manager.
Basic Minimum Requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older and eligible to work in the United States
- Must have written or verbal skills in either English or Spanish. (Bilingualism preferred but not required.)
- Must have at least 2 years work history or related education or experience in greenhouse work, horticulture, production, or manufacturing.
- Must be able to work in all Greenhouse conditions including wet, humid, dusty, dirty, and extreme hot/cold temperatures with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently push/pull racks on wheels, and occasionally move benches or product of up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Job requires employees to be on their feet for long periods of time, sit, climb, balance, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch or crawl with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must have specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock. To prevent injury, employees must abide by the safety procedures set by Tagawa Greenhouse Enterprises, LLC. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
