Job Description
The Distribution 3rd Shift Supervisor manages order & inventory activities at the systems level. Leads and directs the work of others in the shipping office and IC team. Performs activities associated with the entry and processing of product orders and inventory transactions.
Essential Functions:
  • Understands the functional aspects and data management tools of WMS necessary to operate at all levels within area of responsibility.
  • Liaison between 1st and 2nd Shifts
  • Assists Department Supervisor/Manager and other distribution office staff as required
  • Helps coordinate immediate shipments
  • Prepares work schedules and assign workers to specific duties
  • Pulls-up product orders from WMS following standard operating procedures.
  • Pulls-up delivery processes WMS.
  • Monitors the waving/printing/releasing of all orders to the warehouse floor.
  • Monitors order/inventory data & transactions.
  • Monitors inventory control functions including performing cycle counts, warehouse inventory reporting and resolution of variances/deviations
  • Monitors failed delivery reports
  • Performs audits to ensure the accuracy of inventory records.
  • Data collection/research through Excel/SAP to problem solve and prevent problem
  • Maintains associated order & inventory records, files and documents.
  • Prepares critical documents related to inventory/order release processes, including training documents.
  • Develops, implements and measures performance to minimize stock outs or delays.
  • Works with the Production and Inventory Control Department and Master Schedulers to maintain optimum inventory levels.
  • Coordinates “continuous improvement” initiatives in conjunction with the Distribution Center Logistics Supervisor, Distribution Center Inventory Allocation Supervisor, FTZ Administrator, & the Distribution Planning Manager.
  • Develops a team to support success and delegates to promote ownership.
  • Promotes a team environment.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as required to service the internal customer.
  • Supports & implements safety programs.
  • Provides challenges to improve support staff.
    Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Directly supervises distribution office staff and cycle counters, in accordance with company policies and procedures and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include training associates; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising personnel performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Leads by example.
Education and Training:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Relevant college degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in related materials management function.
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office, primarily Excel.
  • Experience using SAP.
  • Experience in a closed loop, MRP environment desirable.
  • Six Sigma Yellow & Green Belt knowledge preferred.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to assist on the third-floor mezzanine without height restrictions.
Working Environment:
  • Associate must be able to work in a warehouse environment with uncontrolled climate changes, hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Exposure to noise, dust, and various hazardous materials
  • Associate must be able to work extended hours and weekends from time to time
