We are a warehouse distribution company seeking an employee who can excel at working independently. This is a salaried position and three weeks of paid vacation is included.

Schedule

• Sunday through Thursday (Sunday hours can work around church schedules). Some schedule flexibility is required periodically and will be discussed well in advance.

Shipping-related duties

• Packing live amphibian/invertebrate orders Mon-Thu (this comprises approximately 60% of your weekly hours)
• Assembling shipping boxes
• Printing shipping labels
• Sign for, receive, and inspect all incoming shipments from FedEx/UPS/DHL/etc

Maintenance-related duties

• Cleaning all animal enclosures
• Feeding and watering all animals, including unpacking live crickets, superworms, and waxworms
• Keeping facility clean; bringing trash and recycling to outside dumpsters
• Sterilize all used equipment
• Feed and water juvenile invertebrates once per week

Tadpole-related duties

• Monitor all tadpole enclosures for temperature, cleanliness, and overall health and growth
• Recognize how to appropriately feed tadpoles the correct type and quantity of food

Personality traits

• Cannot be squeamish around amphibians or invertebrates
• Dependable self-starter who can effectively operate without constant supervision
• MUST be able to complete tasks quickly and efficiently. We work within tight time constraints (scheduled FedEx pickups, etc).
• This is an active position and you’ll be on your feet almost all day. A tall chair is available if preferred.
• We intend for this to be a long-term position. Please do not apply if this would be an interim, stop-gap, or temporary position for you.
• You must be able to excel while working by yourself, as there currently are no other employees. You're essentially managing the entire facility. A bonus of this is that you can listen to plenty of podcasts/audiobooks.

Prerequisites

• You do NOT need to have experience working with, or keeping, amphibians or invertebrates. All training will be provided by the owner.
• A successful candidate will be both diligent and focused. An analytical mind capable of problem-solving is hugely advantageous.
• Signed NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) is required and enforced
• There will be a six-week trial period before the job will be officially awarded, in order to make sure it’s a good fit for both parties.
