Vehicle Journeyman Mechanic - Full-Time

Starting Annual Salary: $59,712 with regular pay increases

(Annual Salary Range: $59,712 - $75,568)

Location: Coupeville, WA

We are looking for a qualified individual to perform skilled mechanical, diagnostic and preventative maintenance and repair services of our vehicle fleet and related equipment at our state of the art maintenance center.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Two years of experience in the mechanical repair and maintenance of heavy-duty diesel and or gasoline powered engines, air systems, suspensions and air and hydraulic brakes OR combination of experience and completion of a vocational or community college diesel mechanics program or apprenticeship program that incorporates this level of education and experience.
• ASE certifications related to this work, preferred.
• Must possess a valid Washington State driver’s license and be able to obtain and maintain a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with passenger endorsement and air brake restriction lifted. Training & CDL Testing provided by Island Transit.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Washington State Class A Commercial Driver’s License. Training & CDL Testing provided by Island Transit.
• Must have an acceptable five (5) year driving record that meets the agency’s hiring criteria and maintain acceptable driving record during employment.
