Our esteemed Finance Department seeks a dependable, mature, customer-service oriented individual to fill the role of Part-time Utility Billing Clerk for the duration of a new, 2-year water meter installation project.

This temporary role is responsible for calculating, reviewing, and preparing invoices for Village customers, in addition to completing various clerical tasks as assigned. This position will also input new meter information on exisiting accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include calculating, reviewing, and preparing monthly utility bills for printing by the Village’s utility bill printer; printing and mailing monthly delinquency notices; preparing shut-off notices for delinquent utility bill accounts; receiving telephone calls and citizen visits concerning utility billings or services; and responding to citizen complaints.

Additionally, this role processes work orders including entering meter exchanges into the water billing system; compiles and enters new information for move-ins and move-outs into the water billing system; and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills:
A High School diploma or GED certificate is required. A minimum of one (1) to three (3) months of related experience and/or training is required.

The ideal candidate will possess knowledge, skill, and maturity to know when to solve problems and situations independently and when to advise supervisory personnel.

The ability to ready and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; effectively present information in one-on-one and in small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization as needed.
Compensation & Benefits:
Hourly rate of $15.83 - $18.75 depending on qualifications. Up to 29 hours per week with some flexibility. This ia an IMRF (Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund) eligible position.
