Position Title: Unit Director

Job Category: Management Staff- Full-time / Exempt
Reports to: Director of Operations

Salary: $35,568; competitive benefits package
Primary Functions: Seeking an energetic, outcome driven professional for a challenging, yet rewarding full-time position. The Boys & Girls Club of Rutland County is seeking enthusiastic Unit Director for our facility located @ Orwell Village school under the 21st century community learning center grant. If you are an experienced leader and enjoy working with children and like being on your feet and interacting with them in order to make their afterschool experience high quality and fun, then the Boys & Girls Club might be a perfect fit for you.

Primary Duties: oversee staffing and programming at an afterschool site with children ages, 5 to 14, including conducting educational, recreational, and interactive activities, serving snack and dinner, and engaging members in constructive ways. Responsible for safety, organization, program planning and preparation, record keeping, and cleaning.

Hours: Monday thru Friday 8 hours a day 40 hours a week

As a Unit Director this individual will oversee all daily operations of the orwell Club, including staff training, Club schedules, snack, etc. Additionally, this individual is the primary spokesperson for the Club, communicating with parents and school officials with the primary concern for youth development, program and service management, facilities management, human resource management, and community relations.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree; 2 years supervisory experience; ability to ensure a healthy and safe after school environment; ability to compile regular reports reflecting facility and program attendance and participation; ability to conduct and participate in special events; ability to take initiative and work independently as well as part of a team; exceptional presentation and facilitation skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to multi-task; highly organized and proficient with MS Office.

Ability to plan, implement, and track quality educational programs and activities. Knowledge of and the ability to teach language arts and mathematics up to the high school level is required. Must have the ability to supervise, instruct, and train other education personnel.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience working for a nonprofit organization; experience in an afterschool setting; experience administering state/federal grant requirements; experience working in a licensed childcare facility;
