JOB SUMMARY

This position will be responsible for consulting with department heads to evaluate training and development needs of employees. Plan, coordinate and deliver training programs that meet business goals, support the Bank’s strategic plan and advance the knowledge and skills of employees.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for providing creative and effective training on a diverse range of subject matter to include deposit and loan procedures, retail banking products and services, sales, leadership/coaching, cash management, RDC and merchant services
  • Partner with subject matter experts to identify and/or develop content and design training materials
  • Work with managers to identify training needs and map out development plans for teams and individuals
  • Oversee professional development for our bank employees
  • Review, maintain and update retail training curriculum (teller, teller supervisor, CSR, ABM, BM) for new hires and cross-training
  • Work with Retail Banking Leader to provide training materials for Retail Team Meetings
  • Advise management of available outside educational programs such as SC Bankers School and LSU, participate in the selection of attendees and coordinate attendance
  • Assist with the development and coordination of the Emerging Talent program
  • Play a key role with onboarding and training new employees
  • Responsible for maintaining and assisting others on the use of the bank’s learning management system
  • Maintains records of training activities, monitors program effectiveness, and recommends improvements
  • Serves as an integral team member for bank acquisitions to include managing, scheduling, and implementing training to newly acquired employees
  • Stays current on training and development topics by attending conferences and seminars, reading relevant articles and books, professional membership, etc.
  • Responsible for compliance within area of responsibility
  • Completes other projects and assignments as requested

Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Bachelor’s degree in business or education strongly preferred or equivalent combination of training and banking experience
  • 4+ years retail and/or commercial banking experience
  • Working knowledge of all areas of the bank including lending, deposit and operational activities and other lines of business
  • Training experience in a classroom setting and/or on-the-job training environment
  • Proficiency in oral and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to speak in front of groups, individuals and managers in a clear, welcoming and professional manner
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel and Power Point; knowledge of bank systems, preferred
  • Organizational skills to include the ability to handle multiple assignments and follow through to completion
  • Innovative thinker with the ability to independently develop new ideas, processes, and training materials that coincide with the bank’s strategic plan
  • Ability to interact effectively with management and employees
  • Proven ability to instruct others in a formal or one on one environment
  • Knowledge of bank policies, procedures, and regulations at Federal, State, and local levels
  • Knowledge of BAI Learning Management System is preferred
  • Some travel, including occasional overnight, is required
