Position Summary*
This position is specific to our Lucknow-Highspire Terminals LLC (LHT) business.
The Terminal Manager will provide oversight, planning and coordination of bulk petroleum product transfer operations associated with receiving, storing, blending and loading of combustible and flammable liquids. Manages and directs terminal operation employees in daily terminal tasks involving pipeline, rail and truck operations, ensuring safety and environmental compliance.
Terminal operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Terminal Manager is an emergency responder and is required to carry a cell phone and be available 24/7.
Responsibilities
- Manage all operations at Terminal. Ensure daily activities are conducted in accordance with established company policy. Ensure all terminal systems are functioning in accordance with design specifications. Ensure performance of maintenance and construction contractors with respect to project timelines, project scope, budget and quality of work.
- Provide supervision and direction for terminal operation employees setting the standard for individual performance and teamwork. Responsible for all employee-related matters including hiring, training, development and performance management.
- Maintain accurate inventory control and reconciliation to ensure all product receipts and withdrawals are correctly accounted for and terminal operates within acceptable guidelines from a product gain / loss perspective. As issues are identified, research cause and effectively resolve issues.
- Create and maintain a strong safety culture. Comply with all OSHA and environmental rules and regulations. React according to defined emergency response procedures assisting in completing all required notifications to various governmental agencies within appropriate timelines and complete follow up documentation. Maintain knowledge of applicable safety and environmental rules, regulations, and company directives.
- Continuously monitor all aspects of facility operations keeping regulatory situations in mind. Responsible for ongoing training and safety exposures that involve terminal operation employees. Maintain knowledge of all terminal emergency procedures.
- Ensure facility operates free of punitive assessments on the part of regulatory agencies as well as incident free performance from a safety and environmental perspective.
- Organize, plan and direct maintenance and repair activities along with capital improvement projects to ensure products are handled safely, efficiently and consistent with company operating goals, regulatory requirements, customer service requirements and product quality standards.
- Ensure all operating systems, the facility and record keeping are well maintained, accurate and in compliance with local, state and federal regulations. Prepare required reports as directed by senior leadership.
- Provide effective management of company objectives and routine review and re-forecasting of appropriate budgets.
- Maintain good public relations with the local community and local, state and federal regulators.
Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience in Terminal Operations required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field preferred
- At least 5 years’ experience in Terminal Operations required
- At least 7 years’ experience in Terminal Operations and management experience preferred
- The following certifications preferred: FSO and ICS 700, 100, 200, 300, 400
- Strong leadership capabilities including: influencing others, conflict resolution, and problem solving
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities at once
