The Communications Coordinator will support the CBS News and Stations communications team, reporting to the EVP of Communications for CBS News and Stations. The Coordinator will work closely with the New York based publicists and journalists to develop strategies and tactics that generate publicity and increase brand awareness across CBS News. The role supports the communications efforts for the editorial and reporting originating from the CBS News New York Bureau, CBS News’ award-winning 60 Minutes, CBS Mornings, CBS Saturday Morning, CBS Sunday Morning, and all CBS News Streaming and Digital Properties.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. Responsibilities:
- Support the EVP of CBS News and Stations Comms as well as the New York-based communications team and other senior executives.
- Assist with administrative duties, including managing schedules, expenses and contacts.
- Support the strategic publicity efforts for CBS News programs and journalists including drafting and distributing press releases, guest listings, transcripts, and editorial highlights.
- Track media coverage and distribute daily clips packets to all senior executives.
- Maintain accurate correspondent bios, headshots, and fact sheets about CBS News journalists and executives.
- Research and pitch creative placements, interviews, stories, and speaking opportunities for CBS News journalists and executives.
- Support event planning and execution for industry and company events.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and provide attention to detail.
- Strong, polished interpersonal skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interest in and understanding of news, the media industry and world events.
- High-level proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and Slack.
- Collaborative and team-player.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
