Telecom Engineer Job at Brooksource
Role Overview:
- Support TSO Control Room - Troubleshoot console and hardware issues that arise.
- Verify EMS alarms Contingency display, phase shifter and voltage counter are all working properly
- Support EMS and Scada Systems to ensure successful Transmission and Distribution
- Navigate software to verify RTU failures
- troubleshoot analog and digital serial circuits
- Test Ameritech and Triplett test equipment.
- Test and run for T&D RTU circuits
- Substation support as needed 8-10%
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of supporting Telecommunication or Utility Communications organizations in a technical or field capacity.
- Exposure to Microwave, Sonet, and Fiber Technologies
- Experience with 66 or 110 Blocks
- Familiarity with Terminal Servers
- BS in Engineering or Technical Services is preferred
