This is an in-person on campus, non-remote position.

The School of Behavioral and Social Sciences invites applications for a one-year, Non-Tenure Track Position (Teaching Specialist) in the Social Work program, starting September 1, 2023. The position involves teaching courses across the curriculum in the undergraduate Social Work program, specifically skills and methods courses. Required qualifications are an MSW degree from a CSWE accredited program, 2 years post MSW practice experience, and teaching experience at the college-level in social work or related field. Preferred qualifications are a Ph.D. in Social Work or a DSW, experience with diverse populations in an academic setting, and teaching experience in social work courses.

• Candidate should be able to teach courses in the following areas: social work practice, theory and methods; race, ethnicity, and diversity; and introduction to social work
• Expectation of a teaching load of four classes per semester and possible teaching in the evenings
• Significant practice experience, excellent teaching and program service are expected
• Additional responsibilities include: accreditation activities, curriculum development, overseeing field practicum classes, and student advisement as negotiated under the collective bargaining agreement

Required Qualifications:

• MSW degree from CSWE accredited program
• Two years post-MSW practice experience
