Jeff Baker & Associates, PS (JBA) is a Tacoma, WA based CPA firm specializing in business based advisory, accounting, and tax services for small to medium size businesses and tax services for both individuals and business owners.

We are currently seeking a Senior level tax reviewer with extensive individual and corporate tax experience who is comfortable working in a collaborative environment. The successful candidate will be comfortable with client/staff interaction and will be looking for growth in the firm.

Expectations of the candidate:

A qualified candidate has 10+ years of tax experience in public accounting and is up to date on current tax practices and law changes.

The ideal candidate has excellent accounting knowledge and has strong time management and client service skills, in addition to strong tax knowledge, reviewing and training experience. To perform the job successfully an individual must be able to balance client communications, reviewing and training professional staff. It is essential that the individual have strong written and verbal communication skills and is a team player. As a member of JBA you will work with a team of professionals to complete a high volume of small business and high net worth individual deliverables.

Experience with Engagement, CCH Axcess, Lacerte and QuickBooks is strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple engagements simultaneously to complete client deliverable deadlines
• Review complex corporate, S-Corp, partnership and individual tax returns
• Client communications
• Understand and apply tax savings strategies
• Review tax projections and execute and analyze tax planning strategies for companies and individuals
• Perform tax research
• Oversee attest engagements, including financial statement reviews and compilations

Skills/Qualifications

• 10+ years of public accounting experience, with minimum 5 years in a leadership role
• Active CPA license
• Bachelors degree in Accounting related field, MS in Tax preferred
• Superior understanding and proficiency in accounting
• Expert knowledge of the tax code for businesses & individuals
• Capability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously
• Exceptional analytical & problem solving capabilities
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high pressure environment
• Strong organizational and management skills
• Team player
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Trustworthy with attention to confidentiality
• High level of comfort using technology to create efficiencies in workflow
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word
• Experience using CCH Products and Lacerte is a plus
