Cherokee County CPA firm has growth needs for a CPA/Tax professional who is detail-oriented, organized, and has the ability to prioritize projects and work with a team.

You will establish working relationships with client personnel. Plan to maintain contacts with business peers and become involved in community activities. Office environment, reasonable tax season hours, variety of clients, and challenging projects make this a great place to work and grow personally and professionally.

Position Purpose & Qualifications

• Review and Prepare income tax returns of varing complexities – 1040/1120 (S)/1065/1041
• Review and Prepare annual county Business Personal Property Tax Returns
• Tax consulting and planning
• Prepare personal tax projections.
• Research various tax matters
• Answer tax questions for clients either via phone or email
• Make adjusting entries and complete a trial balance in order to prepare a tax return.
• Analyze clients’ Quickbooks for needed tax compliance adjustments prior to entering the business tax returns.
• Correspond with government entities in response to client notices in a timely manner as a client advocate.
• Support team and one’s own pursuit of professional development through client assignments and continuing education.
• Work with team to effectively manage client engagements, including preparation, tax planning, research and resolution.
• Implement technology within client assignments and internal processes
• Use portal to deliver and exchange tax documents with clients
• Strong computer skills: proficiency in Thomson Reuters products a plus.
• Proficiency in multiple software applications, including QuickBooks and Microsoft Office suite
• QuickBooks Desktop and Online
• Ability to work independently and with others
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• Willingness and ability to adapt to changing priorities as the organization grows.
• Participate in special projects as needed.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience, preferably in a local public accounting firm.

Degrees & Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
