Summary

Provide coaching and instruction for swimmers of all age and skill levels. Instruction will occur both in small groups, and private/semi-private formats over various pools and seasons.

Essential functions

1. Protect the safety and health of all swim participants.

2. Assess swimming competencies for each level and make recommendations for placement in appropriate class(es).

3. Develop a lesson plan for swimmers of various age and developmental levels. (Infant-Adult)

4. Teach swimming skills consistent with age and developmental level. (Infant – Adult)

1. Submit course rosters and information in a legible and organized fashion.

Physical Requirements

1. Ability to demonstrate physical fitness to include frequent light to occasional heavy lifting (up to 30 lbs.) standing, and walking for long periods of time, bending, pushing, and pulling.

2. Must be able to provide in-water instruction.

3. Able to stand, sit and walk for extended periods of time and intermittently.

4. Ability to reach with hands and arms, push items overhead, occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch.

5. Ability to talk, hear, and see.

Competencies

1. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency of all applicable swim skills.

2. Must be able to communicate effectively with swimmers, parents, and other coaches.

3. Knows and understands emergency procedures

Skills

1. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency of swim skills.

2. Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills.

Abilities

1. Ability to communicate in small groups.

2. Ability to provide leadership, instruction, and motivation for participants.

Required Education and Experience

1. Technical knowledge of swimming strokes and skills

Preferred Education and Experience

1. Water Safety Instructor Certification

2. Previous Swim Instructor experience.

3. Advanced swimming skills

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability
