JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for managing all aspects of the Supply Chain Management Group for the U.S. The SCM Manager will establish the concepts and strategies that will steer the SCM Group with alignment to our Global SCM objectives. The Manager will ensure growth in sales and market share by providing the SCM and engineering needed to meet, or exceed, all Company and Department Metrics regarding People, Safety, Cost, Quality and Delivery. He or she will be Continuous Improvement Driven … focused on implementing process improvements.
The SCM Manager is responsible for Inventory Management, Material Planning, Customer logistics, Logistics Engineering, and all projects related to logistics and warehouse management. He or she will collaborate with the Globally Supply Chain groups in Germany.
The SCM Manager will implement projects and processes to optimize supply chain functions and reach the global SCM targets for stock turns, on time delivery, lead time, and efficiencies for the U.S. operations. KPI’s for this role include, but not limited to, indirect efficiency related to all warehouse movements, stock turns, total inventory dollars, inventory accuracy, material lead time, picks per hour, on time delivery to customers/plant sites, expense costs/budgets, and airfreight costs.
The SCM Manager is responsible for developing fast and efficient Logistics Processes that comply with NORD global standards at all U.S. Facilities. He or she will be responsible for developing and improving logistics processes and maintaining the Warehouse layouts.
The SCM Manager is responsible for identifying waste in our NORD processes and implementing actions to improve our productivity using proven methods, such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma. He or she will also solicit operator and department input when changing an area or process that will affect the operators.
The SCM Manager will look for new technologies and stay abreast of the latest methods to improve. He or she is responsible for adhering to, and enforcing, all company policies, procedures, and practices – ISO, Human Resource, Safety, or other – that apply to his or her area.
He or she will be an active participant in the Global Supply Chain meetings that include the global subsidiaries. The SCM Manager will exchange knowledge and ideas with other NORD facilities Globally in order to improve and standardize processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain.
  • Lead and Manage all Supply Chain Management personnel and functions for the U.S.
  • Establishes performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting the supply chain.
  • Develops and maintains detailed inventories of materials and supplies located in the company, at sites, and in the factory.
  • Maintains required quantity of supplies and materials to optimize production.
  • Analyzes current inventories and procedures; suggests improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain and profitability for the company.
  • Develops policies to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety; implements subsequent changes to processes.
  • Identifies optimal shipment and transportation routes with attention to consolidation of warehousing and distribution.
  • Assesses the need for material-handling equipment and staffing; makes recommendations to ensure efficient loading, unloading, movement, and storage of materials.
  • Participates on product development team, providing information and guidance on availability and cost of supplies and materials.
  • Acts as part of the team coordinating engineering changes, product line extension, or new product launches to ensure timely and orderly material and production flow transitions.
  • Monitors the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements.
  • Manage all projects related to supply chain management for the U.S. Develop solutions, budgets, timelines, and implement projects.
  • Implement standards developed by Global SCM. Collaborate with Global SCM to reach Targets and Strategies for NORD U.S. Attend Global SCM meetings.
  • Satellite Facility Support – Support the satellite facilities layouts, processes, and all activities related to continuous improvement. This includes all aspects of SCM support for the U.S.
  • Utilize SAP and BO system to gather data for analysis and reporting.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field required. Master’s degree preferred. Lean Six Sigma training a plus.
Experience: Three years of experience as a supervisor, manager, or similar relevant position within Supply Chain Management required. Relevant training in Supply Chain Management and Leadership is preferred.
