Mountain Laurel Recovery Center is an inpatient detox and residential drug and alcohol treatment center as well as the 2020 recipient of Summit BHC's Culture of Excellence Award. This opportunity is perfect for a qualified individual who wants to work in the addiction field within an organization that offers a great culture as well as someone who is interested in working overnights.
The Substance Abuse Therapist provides group and individual counseling, completes biopsychosocial assessments, treatment plan development and discharge planning for our inpatient drug and alcohol program. Conducts confidential, quality assessments, that are gender-responsive and trauma-informed

• Direct and indirect client contact as deemed appropriate. .
• Tolerate stressful situations
• Ability to adjust to increased workload
• Able to work independently as well as ability to work well with others
• Effective communication skills
• Provide clinical consultation to referral resources, Mentors, family members, and others to help support clients in their recovery
• Assist clients with scheduling an admission or first appointment date at the program or facility where they are referred

Completion of an Associates, Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Sociology or an equivalent field from an accredited college or university with at minimum ability to meet state requirements of counselor position required. One year or more experience in the behavioral health field and experience in recovery preferred.
Sign on bonus opportunity paid out over 3 installments- 1st month, 90 days and 9 months($1,000-2,500 DOE, degree and/or licenses, certifications).
