Job Summary
Student tutors assist and coach other assigned students in becoming a more successful and independent learner. Student tutors provide and help to integrate effective learning and study strategies for their assigned students, while at the same time helping to clarify and/or reinforce course content, assignments and material.

Essential Job Functions
Tutor specific academic subjects to individuals or small group. Monitor students’ attendance and progress. Document and communicate student progress. Refer students to supervisor when need arises. Support and encourage independent learning. Coordinate meetings and schedules with tutees as appropriate. Complete data entry tasks using required data base software. Participate in initial training program for developing teaching techniques and learning skills and ongoing training sessions as required. Attend staff meeting.
Qualifications
Enrolled in either a graduate or undergraduate degree program (minimum of 6 credits for undergraduate students, 9 credit for graduate students). Good academic standing (minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA is preferred) and demonstrated success in the course to be tutored. Good conduct standing. Successful completion of online student employee application.
