Under the direction of the Program Director, the Facility Area Manager performs the following functions:

  • Responsible for direction and implementation of all programs policies and procedures within the assigned area Antelope Valley (AV) or South Bay (SB).
  • Responsible for oversight of a minimum of four (4) facilities. Weekly supervision with facility administrators with the organization, supervision, and delegation of work in the facility.
  • The Area Manager assures that quality is maintained in all aspects of the facilities via planned and unplanned checks of all components, including procedures and forms, as stated in the program statement.
  • Quality control checks of client case records, including logs and incident reports, interview with clients served, and contacts with referring agencies.
  • Periodic review of procedures regarding expenditures including handling and safekeeping of resident’s funds.
  • Gather statistical program outcome measurement/ data for all clients placed at all sites and reviews with executive director or designee bi-annually or upon demand.
  • Assists in ongoing review of procedures and manuals to assure compliance with licensing, accreditation, and other standards.
  • Assist the Program Director in recruiting, appointment, evaluation, and progressive discipline
  • Develop plans for increased performance outcomes.
  • Perform investigations when needed to resolve complaints when needed.
  • Submit a weekly schedule of ongoing development with Administrator, and Facility Supervisor
  • Assess facility risk with administrator in weekly supervision and determine appropriate services
  • Complete quarterly facility trends and submit to risk management department.
  • Reports all required incidents to various agencies concerning children in placement.
  • Report on facility trends in board meetings
  • Report any change in staff criminal record to C.C.L.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The Area Manager shall coordinate the four facilities for the company. The qualifications include:

1. Have a master’s degree in a behavioral science from an accredited college or university, plus a minimum of one year of employment as a social worker, as defined in Section 80001s. (4) of the Title 22 Manual, in an agency serving children or in a group residential program for children.,

Or

a. Have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, plus at least one year of administrative experience or supervisory experience over social work, childcare, and/or support staff providing direct services to children in an agency or in a community care facility with a licensed capacity of seven or more.

Or

b. Have at least five years’ experience working as an Administrator in an agency serving children or in a group residential program for children.,

2. Possesses a current Administrator Certificate

3. Have at least five years working in a supervisory capacity.

4. Possesses good communication skills (both written and verbal)

5. Must be at least 21 years of age.

6. Must be physically and mentally fit to perform the above duties.

7. Must have a criminal record clearance and child abuse index clearance.

8. Must have some knowledge and ability to comply with all applicable laws

a. laws and is familiar with Title 22, Regulations.

Requirement

Dimondale staff are required to be certified in Pro-ACT (Professional Assault Crisis Training) within one month of being hired, by Dimondale’s certified Pro-ACT Instructor. All Pro-ACT trained staff have demonstrated the full understanding of the guidelines and meet the standard put forth in the training, resulting in their certification in Pro-ACT and/or Pro-ACT restraints.

What Pro ACT Entails:

  • Pro-ACT will describe the principles need for the de-escalation of a youth in crisis, as trained staff aid the youth back to their baseline. In the event restraint assistance is needed, only Pro-ACT trained staff can perform a restraint based on the following criteria:
  • There is a crisis, harm to self or harm to others
  • Ratio is met; two Pro-ACT trained staff required to perform the restraint
  • Staff are able to safely enter into the restraint and maintain the safety of all party’s involved

Job Type: Full-time
