Key Responsibilities

The Strategic Account Manager is responsible for long-term strategic customer relationships with a focused set of cross divisional key customers and targets, achieving long term growth, profitability, trust, loyalty, innovation, and risk management. Full understanding of Strategic Account requirements, expectations, and needs. Will represent the voice of the customer within the business.


Qualifications (Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Experience)

  • Develops and implements Strategic Account Plans that include key account opportunities, short and long-term goals, and strategic initiatives
  • Where applicable, signs preferred partnership agreements that drive revenue and share growth in collaboration with the Commercial, Dealer/Trade, and Builder Teams
  • Owns strategic account and key influencers to secure national and regional business
  • Manages and develops strategic account relationships with key individuals (C-level) who participate in driving tile specification/decisions
  • Gains an understanding of the strategic accounts business.
  • Collaborates with the customer to acquire strategic information about their business.
  • Ensures action and responsiveness to the customer by taking responsibility for the exposure the customer has with Emser Tile and facilitates the organizations involvement with strategic account.
  • Utilize CRM (Boost) to effectively track customer activities such as, lead to opportunity conversion
  • Updates Emser Management via MDR reports.
  • Drives and Supports Revenue in all divisions Commercial, Dealer/Trade, Builder
  • Commits to learning, living, and promoting Emser Tile culture and values
  • Thrives in a busy environment, be highly organized, and goal-oriented
  • Results-driven and customer-focused
  • Knowledge of database and query functions
  • Ability to accurately read and respond to non-verbal communication
  • Outstanding leadership skills to include critical/strategic thinking, decision making, and listening
  • Employs influence, relationship building, composure, and open communication tactics to build trust with internal and external customers
  • Possesses financial and business acumen and negotiation skills
  • Excellent basic math functions (piece to square foot calculations)
  • Excellent communication skills at all organizational levels (written/verbal) and with customers
  • Four-year college degree from an accredited institution
  • 2 years of experience in the same or similar position showing growth both professionally and in generating sales

Ability to travel 50% to 75% via air and land to near and distant branches

Ability to navigate in unfamiliar locations

Ability to lift weight up to 25 pounds

Ability to see and hear

Ability to use hands and arms

Ability to talk on the phone

Ability to work on a computer for long periods of time
