Stock Clerk Job at Health Center at Standifer Place
The Food and Nutrition Service Stock Clerk is responsible for all receiving, organization and stocking of food and supplies for Food Service operation.
Reports To: Food and Nutrition Service Supervisor(s) or Manager(s).
Qualifications:
Stock Clerk must:
1. Have high school diploma or equivalent.
2. Have basic sanitation and HACCP knowledge.
3. Be able to work a varied schedule and extended hours when needed.
4. Have an interest in geriatric population care.
5. Have the ability to schedule duties each day to achieve the timely delivery of food and food supplies
6. Have good communication skills, both verbally and written.
7. Be able to follow directions from supervisor or manager.
8. Be able to work in a team-centered environment.
9. Be able to function under times of high stress.
10. Be able to make decisions when necessary for quality patient care.
11. Be able to interact directly with patients, nursing, and other support departments.
12. Be able to fill stock orders and communicate stock supply requirements to supervisor or manager.
13. Be able to perform a variety of foodservice job positions.
14. Maintain a consistent attendance and punctuality record.
15. Be customer-focused at all times.
16. Have an understanding of the hazards typical to an institutional setting (hot water, electrical equipment, sharp objects, and wet and greasy floors).
Physical Demands:
1. Able to walk and push and pull carts.
2. Able to bend, stoop, squat, and twist repetitively.
3. Able to carry out fine motor skills and manual dexterity.
4. Mental acuity to meet job qualifications.
5. Good vision and hearing in order to respond to auditory and visual requests from patients and staff.
6. Able to operate all foodservice and sanitation equipment.
7. Able to withstand heat, cold, and changes of temperature and work in a noisy area with high/low humidity at times.
8. No medical conditions such as: brittle diabetes, uncontrolled seizures, etc. that would endanger self and/or staff or patients.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Organizes daily duties to meet timelines of traylines and to achieve punctual meal service daily according to published schedules.
2. Strives to decrease waste and leftovers.
3. Takes pride in work and personal appearance and adheres to dress code of facility/department, including hairnet and gloves as necessary
4. Delivers food carts and supplies (as ordered) to nursing units and exterior buildings and fills out necessary paperwork.
5. Works with partners, patients, and families to meet their needs, and delivers/retrieves patient's supplies as necessary.
6. Works with partners to get required foodservice supplies and notifies manager when supplies are not available.
7. Attends all staff meetings and inservices as scheduled and mandated by facility and department.
8. Communicates with manager(s) about issues and problems.
9. Flexible during day to meet changing demands of environment and to meet patient needs.
10. Perform duties in any position necessary in order to meet the needs of the department.
11. Keeps loading dock area clean and sanitary.
12. Maintains safe work practices.
13. Any and all other tasks and duties necessary to achieve good patient care.
14. Responsible for all receiving of food and supplies for Food Service.
15. Maintains proper sanitation in all food storage areas.
16. Uses FIFO and ensures all products are covered, labeled, dated and rotated.
17. Assists Manager in inventory process.
18. Checks all deliveries to make sure they are correct and meet facility specs.
19. Must use judgment in receiving goods to ensure freshness and correct product.
20. Completes paperwork associated with receiving orders.
