Position: Sterilization Technician

Location: Seattle, WA

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 10am-6:30pm

Pay Range: $22/hr

We are hiring for a Sterilization Technician in Seattle to perform sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment and linen processing. This candidate will learn to assemble surgical instruments, equipment, and procedural instrument trays from pictures/instructions.

Responsibilities:

• Performs sterilization processes.
• Uses appropriate sterilization techniques according to the Cleaning, Disinfection, Sterilization Policy.
• Operates Cleaning equipment according to procedures and protocols.
• Recognize malfunctions of instruments/equipment and take appropriate action.
• Distribute clean linen to all departments, which includes unloading bulk linen carts, stocking shelves, handles special requests, and stocks special linen carts for various areas and departments. Process soiled Linen.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent, or combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.
• IAHCSMM (International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materials Management) certification or equivalent.
• Knowledge of computerized or automated system operations and record keeping practices.
• Basic math aptitude and knowledge of units of measurement requirements.
• Ability to understand and demonstrate proper techniques for cleaning and sterilization of surgical instruments, equipment and supplies.
• Ability to effectively communicate in person, over the telephone, in person and in writing.
• Can effectively and clearly present information in small group settings.
• Ability to read, interpret and apply information contained in documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Basic math skills and aptitude and knowledge of measurement units.
• Preferred:
• Six months experience in a hospital sterile processing, central services or surgical supply/equipment environment.
• One to two years of experience preferred.
