Title: Staff Accountant
Location: Bridgehampton, NY
Compensation: $90,000 - $110,000

Our garden store supplies and sells special products for home and garden, along with a vast variety of above-ground plants that are always available at our 18-acre main property.

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Support all aspects of the accounting department, accounts receivable, accounts payable, job costing, client billing, and banking tasks as required by the Accounting team.
- Prepare monthly general ledger account reconciliations.
- Assist with preparation of month end financial statements.
- Participate in the monthly close process including preparation of journal entries and account variance analysis
- Assist with ad hoc reporting including but not limited to payroll expense vs. budget by various departments, job costs per project, inventory vs retail sales, and expense analysis detail.
- Perform general accounting functions including preparation of journal entries, account analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, costing, billing, A/R, internal audits, sales tracking, budgeting & commission calculations.
- Support Accounting Leader with operational tasks and special projects, as requested.
- Assist our Accounting team with day-to-day office duties.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Finance or Accounting)
- 3-5 years of related experience
- Knowledge of general accounting principles in accordance with GAAP, budgeting, and computer systems
- Advanced skill level with Microsoft Excel (macros, pivot tables, v-lookups)
Preferred Skills
- Enjoys working with large sets of data
- Knowledge of Sage ERP, a plus
- Experience with Salesforce, a plus
- Strong ability in designing efficient processes and procedures
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Positive attitude and team player willing to help in multiple areas

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
