AbilityPath is hiring a Staff Accountant to join the team!

The Staff Accountant is responsible for full cycle accounts receivable supporting our Children’s Therapy Services Program, our Via Services legal entity and the Preschool revenue recognition process and policies.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • Full cycle Accounts Receivable supporting our Children’s Therapy Services department and Via Services entity including but not limited to an understanding of revenue recognition concepts, generating invoices, payment processing, collections, cash application, and internal/external customer correspondences
  • Oversee the outsourced therapy insurance claims billing process and provide direct assistance in achieving a 95% collection rate
  • Become a subject matter expert on our Children’s Therapy software application (CentralReach) and support the department’s software needs
  • Responsible for reconciling and recording of Preschool revenue to cash receipts
  • Be a backup for weekly check deposits
  • Become proficient in our ADP Payroll processing process and be a backup for our bi-weekly payroll processing
  • Prepare monthly general ledger reconciliation for assigned accounts
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, and other financial reports as requested
  • Support month end and year end close processes
  • Support annual budgeting planning and monthly forecast process
  • Maintain and update desk manual on a semi-annual basis to capture current accounting procedures
  • Maintain high level of accuracy on data entry and meet all established timelines
  • Contribute to improving department and cross functional processes to increase accuracy and efficiency
  • Other duties as assigned


EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Knowledge of accounting systems, principles, and financial reporting
  • Associate’s degree accepted, Bachelor’s degree preferred in applicable field
  • Minimum of two (2) year of applicable work experience


HIRING REQUIREMENTS
:

  • Valid California Driver’s License/ID
  • Clean Driving Record (if applicable)
  • Proof of negative TB test results
  • Verification of occupational physical clearance
  • Pass a criminal fingerprint clearance
  • 18 years of age or job permit clearance
  • Proof of Covid-19 Vaccination + first booster
