SUMMARY: Responsible for independently facilitating the actions that support both the leading and lagging indicators within the Quality, Environmental, Health, Security and Safety Systems to hone and expand our safety culture.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide guidance, leadership and support to front line business operators to help assure associate safety and compliance will applicable regulatory requirements and Crowley policies and programs. Work with employees to understand analysis, implementation, and practical oversight of operational actions in conjunction with compliance requirements. Provide the first point of contact with 27/7 response to emergencies, and subject matter expertise for OSHA, EPA, USCG related activities and manage reporting and follow-up evolutions. Ensure classifications and metrics are accurate in addition to maintaining the company OSHA public record keeping. Deliver monthly/quarterly consultation and reporting to the leadership team on HSSE-Q trends within the organization. Facilitate risk assessment activities, re-assessment activities and offering advice on injury classifications, restricted duty, lost days and job transfer cases.

Qualifications - External

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in a safety related field and commercial operational experiance. Marine operations, safety and health or a related field; or a combination of post high school education and equal experience.

EXPERIENCE: 4 years’ experience in maritime, transportation, industrial/occupation safety or quality assurance programs. Prior experience with analysis, implementation, maintenance and has worked with data collection systems used to produce key performance measures.

TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook, Word, Office 365, Teams, PowerPoint, Power BI and SharePoint. Troubleshoot technical issues, flex both business and system changes ensuring system operations are at a high aptitude.

COMPETENCIES: Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, both internal and external of the organization. Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously. Ability to identify and utilize complex problem-solving skills and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Ability to effectively manage projects that may vary in nature and scope. Ability to converse with legal teams, and customers offering opinion related to regulatory requirements. Ability to create training materials and provide training on OSHA recordkeeping criteria and related requirements. Ability to work within a team structure to resolve, process deficiencies and/or develop new processes. Knowledge of and ability to apply the concepts, principles and practices of change management. Knowledge of OSHA recordkeeping, regulations and requirements, at both the federal and state levels.

OTHER: Travel of 50%-60% is required throughout the region and periodically outside of the region. Must be bilingual in Spanish and English.

JOB SCOPE: Position impacts multiple business units/segments.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Operational environment with exposure to noise, dust, temperature and the like. Extended use of a computer keyboard, viewing of a computer monitor and the ability to sit, walk and stand for periods of time.
