Position Summary

Come join Sunshine Advantage Family! We are looking for responsible, self motivated, and collaborative BCaBAs to join our Parent Training team. We utilize a fully developed curriculum that you can customize to your family's needs, and will work under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

Any changes to the child’s program or intervention will need final approval from a BCBA. Pending on the insurers’ s authorizations the BCaBA under the supervision of the BCBA may plan, develop, and monitor a variety of behavioral support service delivery options to meet the needs of clients diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and/or other behavioral and social/communication challenges. The BCaBA also consults with and teaches instructional team members regarding pro-active, educational, programming, and behavioral supports; develops and implements comprehensive treatment plans; and collaborates with team members, related services providers, families, and other agencies as appropriate.

Job Responsibility:

· Provide education and counseling training and behavior skills training to parents. Education and counseling and behavior skills training to parents and other support people who interact with the child

· Provide ongoing parent skills training in the areas of communication, socialization, daily living skills, motor skills, and reduction in ASD symptoms. Behavior Skills Training (BST) to get parents up to speed in implementing very specific skills and programs using Instruction, Modeling, Rehearsal and Feedback to teach parents new skills or behaviors.

· Assess current levels of functioning, looking for strengths and skill deficits of parents and caregivers. Determining existing skills and knowledge. Evaluate for possible barriers which may include: Socioeconomic status; Cultural values; Employment considerations; Additional support systems (extended family, religious or cultural groups); Education level of parents; Primary language; Responses to feedback

· Providing ongoing training in reinforcement delivery or collecting ABC data directly related to their child's ABA program.

· Determining Barriers and creating a plan for training parents considering barriers to successfully implementing what they are being trained in an effective way.

· Measure and Evaluate skill-specific training and effectiveness of parent training setting up priorities, barriers, general training topics, and specific skill training to help parents grow and develop over time.

· Provide training and supervision of behavior technicians and instructional aides through observations, meetings, performance coaching, and other methods.

· Establish and maintain data measurement, collection, and analysis systems for clients receiving behavioral interventions.

· Maintain appropriate documentation and prepare and complete reports as required.

· Ensure that all treatment plans and programs comply with contract requirements, satisfy all relevant insurance certifications and other expectations, and meet or exceed professional standards.

· Maintain highly organized, consistent, thorough, and systematic recordkeeping practices.

· Seek creative options for ensuring the continuity and consistency of treatment and support services across settings for the lifespan of the client.

· Develop strategies for the stability of quality services when clients experience transitions.

· Conduct structured periodic service reviews to monitor the effectiveness of treatment programs and their implementation; modify and document plan changes as needed.

· Provide staff development, training, and modeling for team members in strategies and methodologies for working with children on the autism spectrum and/or clients who have behavioral, adaptive, and/or social/communication challenges.

· Provide consultation regarding crisis interventions and critical incident supports.

· Participate in Individual Education Program (IEP) team meetings for clients, if requested.

· Promote positive public relations, facilitate interagency collaboration, and advocate for the establishment and maintenance of comprehensive services.

· Participate in professional growth activities such as conferences, classes, team meetings, and program visitations.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
A Bachelor’s level degree; acquire all clinical hours; passing the Assistant Board Certification Exam through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board

· Knowledge of early childhood and autism assessment tools and procedures, and thorough knowledge of child development.

· Experience developing positive behavior support plans and programs; experience teaching social interaction and play skills

· Knowledge of current methods and techniques of applied behavior analysis and discrete trial training; ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with clients, parents, and professionals; competence in analyzing assessment results, designing appropriate individual treatment plans and behavioral programs, and monitoring progress

· Must be able to work effectively as a team member and under supervision, demonstrate flexibility and desire to learn new skills and improve professional qualifications, and travel independently in rural/remote locations.

· Ability to understand the characteristics of a wide range of intellectual disabilities.

· Strong communication skills to work with a diverse team.

· Basic computer skills and ability to use all required software.

· Ability to problem-solve and assist in decision-making, including during emergencies or when a supervisor is not onsite.

· Maintain current status regarding assigned core competencies and other required certification acquisitions within established schedules and timelines.

· Proven creative abilities, and strong organizational and time management skills.

· Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills and good customer service skills
