SUMMARY:
We are looking for an energetic, fun, creative, and organized person that will be our marketing / social media / digital content manager. The ideal person has marketing skills to identify opportunities to build our brands. In addition, has social media skills with a passion for promoting across all platforms and has the ability to create additional content such as videos.
ABOUT US:
We are Oak Hill Brands, a small company located in Downers Grove, that owns a few B2B and B2C brands with a specialization in assistive technology. Assistive technology is anything that is used to increase, maintain, or improve the functional capabilities of people with disabilities - in our case, mostly people with physical disabilities. Some of our Assistive Technology brands include Giraffe Bottle, ModularHose, and Mogo Mounts. Other brands include ForFluids, 1PVC, and PVC40. Each brand has a different feel and gives the candidate a chance to feature different strategies for different audiences. This presents an opportunity to flex creativity to vary content from silly to serious. We market our products through various channels including online, distribution network, and Amazon. Primarily we are an e-commerce company.
We are looking for someone to be our voice and grow with us. In addition, while we are looking for an “ideal candidate” - we find it more important to find someone who is a hard worker that is willing to learn. We are a small company and while we work hard, we like to have fun. During lunch, we enjoy sitting around chatting about many issues - from serious to non-sense, we cover it. From what you did over the weekend to Chipotle burritos vs bowls. Debates about food, movies, and more lead to interesting conversations. We also have events such as taste tests, cookie-thirty, cookouts, birthday Fridays, and more.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build, promote, and maintain brand awareness. Be our voice telling our story.
- Learn and understand products to be able to effectively promote brands/products.
- Collaborate with team members to contribute, understand direction, and help design marketing strategy.
- Create and oversee social media strategy for company brands across various platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc. Write, edit, update content that promotes strategic goals.
- Moderate channels and respond to questions and comments.
- Understand social media and the tools within each platform. Optimize content by learning and understanding the mechanics of campaigns, ads, audience, sponsorship, location, and more.
- Work closely with graphic designer to create content that matches the look and feel of brands. Utilize graphic designer to help create content when necessary, or create yourself.
- Develop concepts or opportunities for engagement.
- Research platforms and create accounts for those that we are currently not involved with.
- Identify and build relationships with potential clients and influencers.
- Oversee social media reporting and tracking.
- Extend communications outside of social media to other media outlets; newspapers, TV, magazines, etc.
- Create digital content such as promotional, instructional, and informational videos. This will include recording and editing content appropriate for our audience. This may include minimal voice over work to help drive the message. Format videos for best performance on each platform; YouTube, Amazon, Facebook, etc.
- Potential for attending conferences / trade shows to interact with customers and learn about what drives our users.
- Implement email marketing tactics, including collaborative content creation, list management, performance measurement, and fulfillment of cross-departmental email marketing needs.
- Research competitors and other market factors, and assist with audience research and data collection to measure the success of marketing efforts.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Proven experience through previous internship/job(s) in the fields of social media, digital media, public relations, communications, marketing, and/or videography/photography.
- Superior writing skills. The ability to write, edit, and publish content independently is a must.
- Highly-motivated self-starter capable of independent work as well as team projects.
- Familiar with Adobe Creative Suite or other software.
- Ability to meet deadlines and to be organized.
REQUIREMENTS (They’re are more like guidelines anyway)
- 1 year or more of experience in social media, content, or a related field (or a pretty convincing argument demonstrating your skills). Content writing experience required; photo/video experience preferred.
- Consistently demonstrate professional work ethic and demeanor.
- On site at our Downers Grove office.
- Available to work full-time with the flexibility to respond to needs outside of regular hours.
- Fan of the Oxford comma.
- Be awesome.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
