To repair and maintain physical structure of hotel using hand tools and power tools.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Maintains hotel, performing minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities, using hand tools.
  • Replaces air conditioner filters.
  • Notifies management concerning need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating and ventilating equipment.
  • May tend furnace, air conditioner, and boiler to provide heat, cool air, and hot water for guests.
  • All other duties as assigned by a manager or supervisor.

Environmental Conditions: Both: Inside and Outside: A job is considered “both” if the activities occur inside or outside in approximately equal amounts. Noise and Vibration: Sufficient noise, either constant or intermittent, to cause marked distraction or possible injury to the sense of hearing, and / or sufficient vibration (production of an oscillating movement or strain on the body or its extremities from repeated motion or shock) to cause bodily harm if endured day after day.

Geometry: Calculate plane and solid figures, circumference, area, and volume. Understand kinds or angles, and properties or pairs of angles.


Language Development: Reading: Read and understand instructions, safety rules, etc. Writing: Write reports with proper format, punctuation, spelling and grammar, using all parts of speech. Speaking: Speak with poise, voice control, and confidence, using correct English and a well-modulated voice.

Data: Compiling: Gathering, collating, or classifying information about data, people or things. Reporting and/or carrying out a prescribed action in relation to information is frequently involved.

People: Taking instructions helping: Helping applies to “non-learning” helpers. No variety of implicit wishes of people is involved in this function.

Things: Precision Working: Using body members and/or tools or work aids to work, move, guide or place objects or materials in situations where ultimate responsibility for the attainment of standards occurs and selection of appropriate tools, objects or materials and the adjustment of the tool to the task require exercise of considerable judgment.
