Site Service Technician Job at Jerritt Canyon
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Chief Metallurgist at Jerritt Canyon Gold you will have the following general responsibilities:
- Supervise met lab technicians, review and assign met lab priorities and personnel as required.
- Work with senior mill management of all required testing to support the process plant and predict behavior of the different metallurgical circuits under various scenarios. Recommend operating parameters to the mill management.
- Accurate metallurgical allocation of gold including compliance with metallurgical accounting standards.
- Reviewing proposed designs and test plans for conformance with contract requirements, and analyze test data for accuracy and consistency.
- Work with mill management for optimization opportunities and work with staff to implement projects to increase productivity, identify potential areas where bottlenecks may occur.
- Work with mill staff on monthly metallurgical reconciliation and weekly gold production report based on prior week production, weekly target and current ore availability.
- Maintaining quality control standards.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
PREFERRED SKILLS
The qualified Chief Metallurgist will have the following requirements:
- 10 plus years experience working in a gold mining facility with fluidized bed roasting success with plant optimization.
- University degree in Metallurgical Engineering Mineral Processing or Chemical Engineering is preferred.
- Must possess the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of specific variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and web-based applications.
- Ability to interface effectively with peers and senior management.
- Good workload management.
- Ability to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to evaluate and implement new methods and techniques for operational improvement.
- Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
