Summary
Assist in soybean inventory and positioning of grain and product at ZFS Ithaca. Load soybean meal, hulls and oil into trucks and railcars.

Hourly Rate
$19.20 with $1.50 night shift premium
Hours
5:00 to 5:00 Rotation, 2-2-3 Schedule
Week 1#: Work on Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday
Week 2#: Work on Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Assist in coordinating inbound soybean receiving activities and segregation of product. Physically monitor receiving process to ensure proper flow.
  • Follow all procedures and policies to meet the requirements of CERT-ID EU non-GMO certification.
  • Monitor process results and make the necessary physical adjustments to meet desired operating parameters. Take the necessary steps to correct operations when running outside of the desired parameters.
  • Notify Supervisor of operational or equipment problems.
  • Maintain logs and follow preventive maintenance activities and record.
  • Reads Bill of Lading to confirm proper product and amount to be loaded. Loads proper product and amount per the Bill of Lading from overhead bins.
  • Weighs in empty trucks accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Weighs trucks out after loading and records all information accurately. Communicates effectively with dispatcher and scale to ensure efficient operation.
  • Maintains clean area around scale and control room, including changing and cleaning vent bags and dead boxes above meal bins and emptying meal sample bags as required. Cleans all spills immediately when noticed. Maintain a clean work area to prevent IP trait contamination as well as reducing risk of dust accumulation.
  • Fixes leaks when noticed and utilizing proper PPE.
  • Operates industrial truck/bobcat to move meal from flat storage to bins.
  • Take accurate inventories of bins as assigned and remain aware of hull inventory status.
  • Observe all plant and safety policies and procedures.
  • Performs other related tasks as may be assigned.
  • Load and unload railroad cars with different commodities
  • Operating railroad equipment as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to learn and operate a weight scale.
  • Knowledgeable in the safe and efficient operation of a loader and skid steer.
  • Proficient in the PC computing environment including Internet Explorer, Outlook; MS Excel, Word and Windows Operating System.
  • Ability to work in elevated work areas of more than 200 feet, and within confined spaces, harnessed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Grain elevator experience and scale operations
  • Loading and unloading of trucks and railcars
