Job Summary
As a Senior Tax Analyst, you would, under general supervision and guidance, work within the federal income tax compliance group and perform a wide range of responsibilities including preparing federal tax returns, book/tax adjustments, quarterly estimated tax calculations, analyzing complex tax transactions tasks, and resolving a range of compliance related issues to ensure actions are completed to appropriate service levels or defined procedures. The analyst performs multiple tasks at any one time and collaborates with internal and external organizations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform a range of tax compliance tasks, with guidance, and handle multiple projects and competing deadlines
  • Prepare book to tax differences by gathering and analyzing data, drawing accurate tax conclusions, and creating detailed supporting tax work papers
  • Prepare complex consolidated Form 1120 tax returns
  • Assist with preparation of quarterly estimated and annual extension tax calculations
  • Review basic tax compliance prepared internally or by external consultants
  • Prepare state returns as needed during heavy compliance deadlines
  • Prepare tax technical research as needed
  • Contribute to company-wide and departmental process improvement initiatives especially as it relates to the use of technology
  • Collaborate with both internal stakeholders and external consultants
  • Provide tax support as assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 1 year of experience with public accounting, corporate tax and/or accounting at a firm, State department of revenue or company OR a high school diploma/GED and at least 4 years of experience with public accounting, corporate tax and/or accounting at a firm, State department of revenue or company.
  • At least 1 year of experience analyzing and reporting financial data.
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).
  • Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or Economics.
  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years experience with public accounting, corporate tax and/or accounting at a firm, State department of revenue or company OR a high school diploma/GED and at least 5 years of experience with public accounting, corporate tax and/or accounting at a firm, State department of revenue or company.
  • Experience in accounting system data retrieval.
  • Experience developing written communications.
  • Experience providing support on state income and sales and use tax audits.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel that includes Pivot Tables, Pivot Charts, Vlookups, and creating custom formulas.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $76,300.00 per year
