We are currently seeking a Sr. Specialist, Training & Development for HMM located in Mineral Wells, WV reporting directly to the Assistant General Manager, Human Resources & Administration. The Training and Development Sr. Specialist is responsible for full cycle training and development of hourly team members, onboarding of new team members and ongoing development to support the organization’s goals. This includes creating, implementing, and auditing hourly training programs and supporting new training programs developed through local sources such as college/university and approved/assigned outside sources.

What you will be doing:

  • Identify hourly training and development needs within the facility through needs assessment and regular consultation with management and HR colleagues
  • Develop hourly training plans that enhance the effectiveness of employee performance and in alignment with business strategy and goals
  • Apply key instructional design methodologies to assist in the development of relevant and high-quality hourly training programs, including participant manuals, educational games, role-playing, simulations, group discussions, videos or lectures and interactive learning modules.
  • Documenting and tracking all hourly training for audit purposes
  • On-boarding new team members in the facility
  • Assessing hourly training needs through interviews with team members and discussions with managers
  • Aligning hourly training with facility goals, prioritizing as necessary to achieve desired and timely results
  • Monitoring hourly training costs and preparation of budget reports to justify expenditures
  • Delivering evaluations to determine effectiveness of training
  • Performing administrative functions to monitor costs, schedule classes, coordinate enrollments, track and maintain training records of hourly team members
  • Support training for salary positions through local college/university programs for Team Leaders, Supervisors and Managers
  • Leverage Corporate programs for learning and development and implement at WV location for team members
  • Other duties as assigned


Required Education and Experience to be successful in this role:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience demonstrated training experience
  • Bachelor’s degree (Human Resources, Business preferred, or equivalent years of related experience)
  • Outstanding interpersonal and ability to build and sustain positive professional relationships
  • Strong collaboration skills with all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated leadership skills to guide project teams through planning, execution and insight phases
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Evidence of strong character with integrity, accountability, honesty and trust
