Make retail design amazing and effective! As a Senior Retail Designer reporting to our Design Manager, you will be a part of a dynamic team creating print and digital assets for weekly promotions along with supporting our stores with Point of Purchase materials and collateral. We want to create design executions that build the brand and sell product. This is a hands-on role that requires both strategic thinking and hands-on design ability. Print and Digital Design and Production
- Provide hands on execution of email layouts, web graphics, and social graphics for weekly promotions.
- Assist in the development and creation of print pieces that highlight our incredible offers and product selection.
- Assist in the conceptualization of colors, textures and visual executions to support a full calendar of promotions.
- Help to continually explore all aspects of retailing (price presentation, features & benefits explanations, financing offers, etc) in a way that is on-brand while driving sales.
- Continually survey the world of retailing for emerging tactics and techniques that build consumer excitement.
Store Signage and POP
- Assist in the development of promotional signage, directional signage, banners, tags and placards for our roster of 25 stores.
User Experience Support
- Assist the web team in the analysis and wireframing of web experiences for our family of web sites.
Special Projects As Assigned
- Organize and execute special projects including catalogs and select direct mail pieces
- Assist in updating brand guidelines as needed.
Required Skills
Skills and Abilities:
- Understanding of and experience in branding, layout, and typography in both print and digital media.
- Compelling portfolio of work over a wide range of creative projects.
- Strong time management skills with ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Must be open to learning new things and welcomes feedback.
- Highly creative and innovative problem solver with an excellent eye for detail.
- Can handle ambiguity and deals well with changing scopes and project goals.
- A high level of skill in the following Adobe programs: Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.
- Self-motivated to stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies and the ability to teach others.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to sit and reach at shoulder height regularly.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers using telephone.
- Ability to use vision to read documents and computer screen.
- Ability to use hands to type information into computer.
Required Experience
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of in-house or agency design experience.
- Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred.
- UX/UI experience a plus.
