The Research Assistant III is responsible for providing research, evaluation, and support for the project and assist with the effective project’s implementation. The RA III will support data collection, data management, project coordination, report writing and presentations. The RA III will prepare data for analysis, conduct data analysis, and prepare tables and graphs for reports and presentations; retrieve documents, literature, and data for reports, memos, and presentations; assist with the preparation and distribution of publications which may include design, layout, and copy-editing presentations or other printed materials. Tasks may also include maintaining and monitoring project work plans, timelines, and schedules for data collection efforts, attending and preparing summary project meeting notes.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Administrative and logistical tasks (e.g., meeting notes, scheduling)
  • Literature reviews and synthesizes information
  • Basic data Cleaning /QA checks on entered data
  • Data collection - coordination, monitoring, tracking
  • Data collection - qualitative (assists)
  • Data collection - quantitative (survey, secondary data sets, abstraction)
  • Data analysis - basic to intermediate descriptive
    • Access queries, Excel formulas
    • Statistical programming, data manipulation using SAS, R, SPSS, Stata (e.g., merging) OR can perform basic qualitative analysis such as contribute to coding qualitative data using Atlas.ti, Dedoose, etc."
    • Under supervision, conduct more advance quantitative data analyses (e.g., inferential statistics, simulations) and/or qualitative data analysis activities (e.g., codebook development, writing up qualitative results).
  • Support development of client-ready written materials (e.g., contribute to reports, prepare charts and tables, PowerPoint)
  • Database programmer - programs surveys (e.g., Alchemer) including logic and validation
  • Supports development of data collection instruments (e.g., interviews, surveys)


MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in public health-related field

Experience: 2 years of experience comprising of 1 year of focus research experience with additional experience including a combination of college labs, internships, etc.

Skills: Strong problem solving, analysis, communication, and teamwork skills. Excellent organization and time management skills. Ability to write clearly and concise copy with attention to detail and target audience focus.

Language: English fluency (oral and written)

Software Proficiency: Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

LOCATION: On-Site North Bethesda or Remote/Off Site


PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Experience: Knowledge of behavioral health, evaluation methodology, and data analytic procedures preferred.
