As a Beef Research Operations Technician III, you will:

  • Supervise daily tasks of feedlot research technicians and student workers.
  • Assist with daily management of pasture or grazing cattle and feedlot cattle working with research technicians and student workers.
  • Meet with supervisors to plan research activities including tasks of research technicians and student workers.
  • Assist in record keeping requirements and trial protocols are accomplished and followed for accuracy.
  • Assist graduate students with data collection.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

BQA and IACUC certification required within 6 months of hire.

Minimum Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in animal science or related field plus one year of cattle operations experience; related experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis. Cattle feeding and health experience. Cattle equipment operation experience. PC-based word processing program skills.
Preferred QualificationsSupervisory experience. Research experience and knowledge. PC-based spreadsheet program skills.
