WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
The Senior Marketing Technologist will be responsible for working with cross-functional teams and clients to operationalize and enhance integrated digital marketing programs that require marketing technology and/or software applications to successfully run. They help nontechnical marketers develop enhanced experiences by effectively leveraging software and data, and play a hybrid role between marketing, development and IT. Outside of supporting platform research, translating technical requirements and supporting operational components, this role will support data visualization and performance measurement planning to optimize and scale integrated programs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand integrated marketing plans, available tools and key data sources to develop and leverage a broader martech ecosystem, with a focus on technical requirements, implementation and management.
- Create operational documentation for defined martech solutions, keeping teams informed of new or updated procedures related to system infrastructure.
- Partner closely with digital, development, UX and analytics team members to strategize and define campaign plans with a focus on martech and performance tracking.
- Work with cross-functional and client teams to develop performance measurement plans and data visualization strategies. Support the management and analysis of various marketing data sets.
- Candidate must be a problem-solver and innovator who will look for ideas and solutions through analytics, technology trends and audience insights to influence brand/marketing strategies.
WHAT OUR SENIOR MARKETING TECHNOLOGIST WILL DO ONCE THEY’RE HERE
- Architect integrated solutions using martech, with a focus on CRM, marketing automation, event tracking and data visualization systems (i.e. Salesforce, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager).
- Understand CRM systems and integration points with other martech platforms (i.e marketing automation) to develop connected customer journeys and relevant experiences.
- Define and analyze how business requirements and marketing objectives translate to martech software needs.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate with martech platform support resources, including researching issues and submitting support tickets as appropriate.
- Work with digital leadership and collaborate with team resources to continually evaluate and engage with martech vendors to understand new tools and add-on features that may help improve performance and/or scalability of programs.
- Evaluate program success and identify optimization opportunities through KPI development, event tracking setup (Google Tag Manager, Tealium, etc.) and regular program reporting using preferred client tools (i.e. Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Tableau, Google Data Studio, etc.).
- Support the creation of scalable processes and best practice documentation related to lead generation, database management and program evaluation.
- Define and follow QA processes to ensure proper data management and list sourcing. Contribute to client-specific and agency-wide data governance initiatives.
- Develop technical processes and martech training to support adoption and skillset growth of digital associates and broader 2RM employee base.
Act as a resident martech expert, with a focus on data management, CRM, marketing automation and AI-driven programs.
Skills Required:
- Advanced experience with Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager
- Demonstrated experience supporting performance measurement planning and data analysis
- Knowledge of web optimization and personalization platforms
- Experience supporting programs that activate first-party data, such as marketing automation campaigns
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
- Strong problem-solving, strategic thinking, time management, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively with a variety of internal teams
- Ability to monitor and adhere to budgets and schedules
WHAT OUR SENIOR MARKETING TECHNOLOGIST WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, data analytics, information systems or a related field is preferred
- 6+ years of experience working with data and analytics/BI tools
- 6+ years of experience supporting Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager
- 3+ years of full-time experience in digital marketing and/or demand generation
- Marketing automation and/or Salesforce platform experience is a plus
