• Design and prepare organic liquid and hybrid electrolyte formulations for lithium-sulfur batteries
• Develop fundamental understanding of electrolyte and electrolyte interface with lithium metal by designing in-situ/ex-situ experimental protocols
• Conduct routine post-mortem analyses and prepare samples for advanced metrology of cell components.
• Collaborate with other component teams to improve electrolyte and overall cell performance and synthetic activities, sourcing, characterizing, and evaluating materials in combination.
• Develop understanding of electrolyte sub-components, properties, and processing approaches and their effects on electrochemical performance
• Gather relevant technical information, identifies key issues, compare data from different sources, draw appropriate conclusions that can help evolve Lyten's Li-S cell chemistry.
• Work in cross-functional, self-organized multidisciplinary teams
• Work efficiently to reach goals with target timelines
• Effectively communicate ideas, concepts, designs, and results within component teams and to the broader R&D organization.
• Mentor Junior Engineers and scientists to facilitate personal and technical career development
• Participate in the generation of intellectual property
