POSITION SUMMARY: To provide Ohio Farm Bureau Federation and subsidiaries timely, accurate and effective financial and accounting services.

POSITION SUMMARY: To provide Ohio Farm Bureau Federation and subsidiaries timely, accurate and effective financial and accounting services.
Primary Duties:
- Maintain all records for financial reporting for OFBF and subsidiaries and any of their related projects.
- Provide timely and accurate financial information on a monthly basis for contract companies and their projects.
- Prepare and classify all entries into records from cash disbursements, cash receipts, billings and journal entries for all companies.
- Prepare 1099 information on all payables.
- Prepare periodic reports and maintain control and distribution of membership dues.
- Assist in any other areas, when time permits, to develop flexibility in covering vacancies or relieving unusually heavy workloads.
- Work closely with staff of departments within the company to understand their needs for accounting and management information, provide data desired and enhance their capabilities of using the data in their responsibilities.
- Be competent in all clerical functions conducted within the department and cover those functions in the absence of the employee regularly performing them.
- Develop and pursue a self-improvement program with a goal of enhancing one’s own technical and management expertise.
- Prepare credit reference reports.
- Handle all transactions related to company cars scheduling, phone and credit cards.
- Handle bank wires and ACH transfers.
Additional Duties:
- Other assignments as assigned by the Director of Accounting.
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or GED.
- Two (2) completed college level accounting classes.
MINIMUM SKILL QUALIFICATIONS
- Two (2) years bookkeeping or general business experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents.
- Knowledge of basic accounting practices.
- Minimum of two (2) years functional accounting experience with Quickbooks.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates Degree in accounting.
- Three (3) plus years experience in an accounting environment.
