JOB PURPOSE

This position is primarily responsible for guarding property against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry. Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, and access points. Investigates security breaches, incidents, and other alarming behavior. Controls traffic by directing drivers. Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Patrols designated building areas and grounds to prevent and detect signs of intrusion in accordance with outlined security procedures

Monitor alarms and security cameras

Escalate emergency situations to law enforcement as needed

Inspects and secures offices, buildings, and doors left unlocked.

Assist guests and employees with door lock issues.

Observes and reports irregularities such as fire hazards, water pipes leaks,etc.

Conducts inspection of employee packages and vehicles in ordnance with company guidelines

Controls and grants access at the entrance to employees, guests and visitors.

Complete incident reports and required documentation for all security incidents

Assist employees and visitors with any concerns they might have

Ensures the security of guests and employees in case of emergency including alarms or suspicious noises, fire, and inclement weather conditions, etc.

Perform CPR or first Aid when needed

Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Valid security guard license in state of employment

Knowledge of standard security concepts, practices and procedures

Proficient written and oral communication skills

Valid driver license required

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Ability to operate security systems and emergency equipment

Ability to react appropriately in stressful situations

Able to work on flexible schedules including weekends, holidays and busy seasons
