Packaging Technician
Thimble Island Brewing Company is a rapidly growing craft brewery located in Branford, CT. We pride ourselves on making simple, well-balanced beer and deliver high-quality, personal service to our customers at a competitive price. We are looking for a motivated, personable individual to join our team as a Packaging and Production Assistant. This role will work on a team with our brewers, lab, and packaging staff. The primary purpose of this position is the production, preparation and packaging of beer. This role will report to the Packaging Operations Manager.
Job Description & Duties
- Case packaging. Ability to operate canning and bottling line equipment including loading cans, bottles, caps, labels. Packing, taping and dating cases. Stacking and moving pallets in accordance with procedure.
- Keg packaging. Involved in kegging, including keg emptying, cleaning and filling, sorting and labeling.
- Inventory. Responsible for recording and tracking materials used as well as finished goods.
- Cleaning. Involved in cleaning all aspects of the brewery, including canning line, bottling line, keg filling machine, tanks, kegs, walls, ceilings, floors.
- Package production. Responsible for the construction of case boxes and carriers in preparation of bottling and canning.
- Quality control. Responsible for ensuring quality finished good in compliance.
- Other tasks as assigned
Knowledge and Skill
- Entry level position. Training will be provided.
- Ability to stand on your feet for 8 hours
- Ability to lift kegs
- Basic mechanical skills and understanding of machinery a plus.
- Experience in the brewing or beverage industry in a packaging role would be a plus.
- Work experience in a fast-paced shipping, manufacturing or similar work setting also a plus
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Pay: $14.00 - $20.00 per hour
