Position Summary:

The Scientist I/II will be responsible for the molecular characterization of novel gene writers to advance candidate selection efforts. We are looking for a highly independent, enthusiastic, and self-motivated individual to work on developing tools to assess genomic consequences of gene writing. This individual will join a dynamic, collaborative and rapidly growing team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and lead new projects, experiments, scientific processes to support characterization of novel gene writers.
• Establish a comprehensive suite of assays to interrogate genomic off-target events
• Actively undertake technology development efforts in the gene editing space.
• Keep up with advances in genomics and genome engineering and strategize on prioritizing and onboarding cutting-edge technologies to advance R&D efforts.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in biological sciences. Title commensurate with experience.
• Experience in hybrid capture and long range sequencing technologies (Pacbio, Oxford Nanopore)
• Familiarity with ONE-Seq
