Position Title: Sales Associate

Reports to Retail Manager

Summary:

The Sales Associate will assist customers with purchasing merchandise and operating cash registers, electronic scanners, and related equipment to conduct monetary transactions. This position will work closely with the Retail Manager and Key Holder to provide excellent customer service for the John Wayne: An American Experience, retail space.

Key Elements of the Role:

· Welcome, greet and interact with customers.

· Consult with customers to understand their needs and preferences related to merchandise.

· Demonstrate and explain merchandise, assist with selecting and suggesting options suitable for the customer’s needs.

· Answer customer’s questions about merchandise and assist with purchase decisions.

· Collects payment using the store point of sale system.

· Ensure accurate transactions by balancing cash register at the beginning and end of shift, and sales at the end of shift.

· Retrieves merchandise from sales floor, stock room, or other inventory locations, places special orders.

· Processes returns and exchanges according to store policy.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

Experience/Education/ Skills:

· Excellent verbal communication skills.

· Excellent active listening skills.

· Excellent sales and customer service skills.

· Extensive knowledge of the merchandise sold.

· Ability to anticipate customers’ needs.

· Ability to recommend merchandise to customers.

· Ability to operate or to quickly learn the store’s point-of-sale system.

· Strong work ethic, responsive, and diligent

· Ability to work a flexible schedule

· Experience with online and retail ticketing systems a plus

Physical Requirements:

Constantly: walking, standing, talking, hearing, and vision (close, distance/depth, color, focus)

Occasional: sitting, reaching, and stoop-crawl

Frequently: bending, kneeling, lift& mve, carrying, pushing or pulling light objects less than 10 lbs; carrying, pushing or pulling heavy objects over 10 lbs; sustained visual concentration on smal areas (i.e. monitors, spreadsheets, etc.)

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $15 per hour

Schedule: Weekends and holiday availability, 8-hour shift, On call.

Exhibit / Retail Store open 7 days a week: 9:00 am to 6:00 pm daily
