Summary
The Safety & Emergency Services (S&ES) Team Leader is responsible for organizational leadership of the S&ES Team. The areas of responsibility include emergency response, fire protection, security, emergency medical treatment, technical rescue, and field safety support.
Essential Functions
- Supervising the personnel of the Safety & Emergency Services Department.
- Management of emergency response program, including ownership of the Emergency Response Manual, maintain relationships with local outside regulatory and emergency services organizations, and ensure training occurs for all levels of the emergency management organization.
- Management of Site Security Plan and Security Vulnerability Assessments as required by Federal regulations including management of physical security systems (e.g., turnstiles, fences, gates, CCTV system, card access system, instruction detection systems, barrier controls, etc.).
- Site Coordinator for Factory Mutual Global (FMG) and other listed underwriters for insurance. Oversee all visits by FMG or other underwrites, track all recommendations, work with site management to implement recommendations, utilize on-line recommendation tracking tools to keep FMG informed of progress. Manage off site FMG visits as well to external warehouses in surrounding areas.
- Management of site fire protection equipment such as fixed fire protection (pumps, tanks, sprinkler systems), extinguisher supplies and placement and special fixed systems ie… gaseous, kitchen, water mist.
- Management of site Life Safety Alarm systems.
Additional Responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining Safety Standards and training pertaining related topics or programs.
- Management of emergency response and other S&ES equipment to include; response vehicles, fire apparatus, foam supply, hazmat apparatus, hazmat ppe, radio/emergency communication systems
- Site coordinator for flammable liquid storage tanks, working with local DNRE on certification of new vessels, recertification of existing site vessels.
- Assuring all critical training requirements are met by S&ES Team members by conducting or coordinating them. This includes on and off site training (IC, Hazmat Tech, Fire School, Medical training, FFI training, AED certification, Job specific training).

Education Requirements
- Bachelors degree required.
- Related certifications are desirable:
- Fire Fighter 1 or higher
- Emergency Medical Technician
- Hazardous Materials Technician
- Certified Fire Protection Specialist
- Certified Safety Specialist
- NFPA Industrial Sector Member
Work Experience
- Minimum 10 years experience in emergency management or loss prevention is required.
- Organizational leadership experience preferred.
- Work in an industrial environment involving hazardous materials with demonstrated knowledge of industrial security and fire/life safety systems is preferred.
