Overview:
Responsibilities:
Works directly with project management team to implement site specific safety plan.
Conducts site specific new employee safety orientations.
Conducts risk assessments and site inspections to ensure compliance with company safety rules.
Completes daily safety inspection reports in a timely manner documenting any noted deficiencies and follow up to ensure corrective action.
Conducts incident investigations including injuries, illnesses, close calls/near misses, reports of other concerns and completes all required documentation on a timely basis.
Conducts weekly safety meeting with site personnel.
Maintains record keeping of all safety related documents including OSHA injury logs.
Collaborates with project management to acquire safety supplies and maintains an inventory for all safety items at the jobsite.
Performs special projects and completes all other duties as assigned or requested for the general support of the organization.
Qualifications:
Associate degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Safety Management, or related field is preferred.
Fluent in English and Spanish.
OSHA 30 Construction Outreach Certification is required.
OSHA 510/OSHA 500 Construction Outreach Certification is required.
Previous work experience in the health and safety field is required.
Bilingual required (English & Spanish)
Knowledge and understating of construction safety work laws including OSHA regulations.
Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels in a construction environment.
Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point.
High degree of dependability and integrity along with a strong sense of result orientation.
Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

TITLE: Safety Coordinator FLSA Non-Exempt
Primary Function
The Safety Coordinator will control hazardous and unsafe working conditions of all personnel at the job site by constantly walking the site and identifying compliance violations in efforts to prevent work related injuries and illness. The Safety Coordinator will report directly to the Safety Manager.
