Safety Coordinator

Morgan Corp is looking for a Safety Coordinator to work with our Spartanburg, SC Division. Responsible for leading and ensuring jobsite compliance with the company's safety programs, policies and initiatives. Provides advice, support, and analysis to help management establish risk controls and management processes that promote sustainable safety and health practices. Works to reduce and eliminate hazards to remove the likelihood of injuries, occupational illnesses, and property damage.


Primary duties include
:

  • Assist with planning, implementing and conducting safety and health training programs.
  • Provide guidance to employees on company safety policies, programs and procedures and coordinating with jobsite supervision in ensuring appropriate resources are available to perform work safely.
  • Assure the implementation of safety and health standards as required in the company safety manual.
  • Perform periodic and frequent safety audits of jobsites to verify compliance, evaluate performance and identify existing or potential hazards
  • Assist with investigations of incidents that may occur on a jobsite and coordinate with site management on the necessary corrective actions to prevent reoccurrences.
  • Perform first aid to employees on-site when needed.
  • Immediately stop/suspend any observed condition that is dangerous to life and health.
  • Ensure subcontractor's compliance with Morgan Corps safety rules and regulations as well as any state or federal rules as they may apply.
  • Attend client meetings.
  • Be flexible to travel to jobsites required with some overnight stays.
  • Perform site orientations to new hire and sub contracted employees.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred (Considerable work experience may replace requirement.)
  • 2+ years of safety experience
  • Observant auditor with expertise and credibility to enact real-time improvements.
  • Write effective Job Safety Analyses and train staff to do the same.
  • Report clearly and concisely on audits, training results, and field performance.
  • OSHA 510 or 511.
  • CSP, CHST, or other EHS certifications appreciated.
  • Ability to write in a clear and concise manner.
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully.
  • Willingness to work with maintenance vendors and convey findings/issues to the Division Safety Manager
  • Use technology efficiently (experience with HCSS and office products a plus).
